 B-WISER Science Camp Application: June 18-23, 2022

B-WISER Science Camp is a non-profit institute made possible by the financial suppport of prior participants and funding from The College of Wooster and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.  Scholarships and some programming are also made possible by the Noble Foundation, Dr. Lois Cook, American Chemical Society Section 223, and the Kathryn Rieder Bequest.

Girls currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade are eligible to participate in the summer 2023 program.  B-WISER is a girl-centered experience, and we have a gender inclusivity policy.  (Please see the B-WISER website for more details.)

The camp fee is $600, but the true cost of running the program is approximately $1000 per camper.  We ask that families consider contributing additional funds to cover their camper's participation.  Your ability and willingness to cover your camper's cost helps maintain a quality experience at an affordable price so that all interested girls might participate.

Applications are considered "complete" when both the application form and camp fee are received.  Acceptance to camp is striclty based on a first-come basis determined by when a complete application is received.  (Acceptance notices are emailed after all items are received - typically within 2 weeks.)

Scholarships are available for those who qualify for free or reduced meals through their school.  Additional information is required to be eligible for this scholarship and is explained further in the application.

Scholarships are also awarded to girls competing in science competitions through the Science Olympiad, the Ohio Academy of Science, or Ohio FIRST LEGO League.  If competing in these fairs, ask your advisor for more information.

Camper safety is a priority.  All participants must adhere to all safety protocols while on campus and while participating in the program, including COVID safety measures.  Any COVID precautions will be determined and posted on our website as the camp dates approach.  (All plans are tentative, and changes might be made as COVID conditions change, in accordance with state, county, and college guidelines.)

Application Deadline: April 20th

This application should be completed by the parent or guardian of the applicant.

The application consists of 49 questions.  (Answers should be saved in your webrowser when using the same computer to complete the survey.)

Note: To complete this application, you will need the camper's science teacher's email address.  (Please double check the address.)
